Back to school..back to school... Well..here goes nothin'

Monday night was my first class back since last spring and it was good to get back into the groove. Surgery really put me back and I was worried I wouldn't have the energy to get back into things but I'm ready to Rock 'n' Roll. I was a little intimidated the first day of Advanced Sports Reporting considering I think I was pretty much the only Sox fan in the room... Thats a little awkward. But hey, you can't expect everyone to be perfect. Anyway, there was a lot that went on and some things made me think...

We mainly talked about Football and Baseball.. some basketball here and there, but those were the main sports. When the little polish cable guy came and fixed my cable last week he kind of made me think..and kind of ticked me off. He asked me about school and all that..told me I was in a failing profession, and told me that he does not see why Americans like football and baseball so much. He said he believed the only reason we like those sports is because there is a lot of stop and go which makes room for commercials. Now honestly..I hate commercials, I don't know about you but that's what I least like about baseball. He continued to tick me off and say how soccer is so much better, yadda yadda, to the point where I just wanted to tell him to shut up, fix the cable, and leave. But I was nice and listened to his rants otherwise I might not have had cable for a long time. It just made me think, is that really true? Or am I not the only one who cannot sit and watch a soccer ball go back and forth for a couple hours?
